‘General Hospital’ News: Jean Passanante And Shelly Altman Dish On Liz’s Redemption, Jason Morgan’s Memory Returning

“General Hospital” storyline secrets have been revealed by none other than the head scribes, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman, reported by ABC Soaps in Depth. The writing duo revealed key secrets such as when Jason’s [Billy Miller] memory comes back, Elizabeth Webber’s [Rebecca Herbst] redemption, and why Carlos [Jeffrey Vincent Parise] returned on canvas.

Fans have questioned which Jason will he end up being – a Quartermaine or a Morgan. Jean Passanante explained, “That’s a good question and a complicated one. We have to remember that he was Jason Quartermaine before he was Jason Morgan. His personality was altered as a result of the earlier accident, and there’s a possibility that some of the character; some of those traits have been reignited. Shelly Altman noted, “We’ve all seen stories about Dissociative Identity Disorder, and this is not it. This is a man who has lived two previous personas, and now has a third- Jake. Can him integrate all three personas in one? You’ll soon find out.”

Shelly Altman said she feels like Liz can be redeemed; however, it may take some time. Altman noted, “She is already in love with this man when the information came to her about his true identity. The beauty of a soap is the transgression is redeemable. It is an extremely complicated situation.” Passanante explained that she loved the character of Liz and believes that she loves Jason. Sorry fans, it looks like Liz will be redeemed by Jason in time.

The writing duo admitted they didn’t want to bring back Carlos Rovera, but felt like it was needed to spice up the storyline with Anna DeVane [Finola Hughes] and Sabrina’s [Teresa Castillo] baby’s paternity. His return impacts multiple storylines, so in the end it was a good thing to do for the ABC soap opera. Shelly Altman noted, “Ultimately, even though Carlos is alive, Anna as a member of law enforcement must live with the fact that she pulled the trigger four times in an attempt to kill Carlos.”
