“General Hospital” viewers – get ready for a special holiday gift from “GH”! India Arie, the phenomenally talented, Grammy-winning singer, will serenade guests at the 2015 Nutcracker Gala. India’s appearance will take place on Monday, December 21.
India, not surprisingly, is a “General Hospital” fan and when approached by executive producer Frank Valentini agreed to the performance. Nathan Varni, Manager, Current Programming, ABC Network in an interview with ABC Soaps In Depth revealed that all the credit for India Arie’s performance goes to Valentini! Nathan said that Frank “put the feelers out” and made it happen.
India’s schedule had an opening and voila – Nutcracker Gala guests will be serenaded by the chanteuse. Nathan Varni also divulged in the Soaps In Depth interview that India will perform a beautiful holiday song that is truly wonderful. “General Hospital” fans can pick up India Arie’s new CD “Christmas With Friends.”
The Nutcracker Gala also provides the real life portrayers of Port Charles residents an opportunity to participate in the Toys for Tots program. The donation bins actually served as set decoration while filming the gala event. All employees – cast and crew – donated toys that were forwarded to the United States Marines yearly toy drive to help children in need.
Not only were the Toys for Tots bins part of the scenery, but the entire ballroom has been blinged out for Christmas. “General Hospital” viewers, hopefully, will enjoy the beautiful holiday sets as much as the actors and crew did.
Christmas is almost here and “General Hospital” starts the holiday early with the Nutcracker Gala on Monday, December 21. If you can’t want “GH” in its time slot make sure to set your DVR! The gala sounds as if it is the not-to-be missed event of the year.
