- Derk is married to Cara Coster, the actor Kevin Costner’s niece since 2006.
- Derk & Cara share a daughter Kylie, she was born January 30, 2008. Their second daughter Audrey Jane was born October 14, 2010. Their third child, a son, named Cody Maclean was born on February 9, 2015.
- Derk has appeared in over three dozen national commercials, ranging from Chevrolet to Bud Light
- Derk’s first part in a major film came in Kevin Costner’s The Postman in 1997.
