‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers Tuesday Sept 22: Paul Blackmails Ava – Sonny Thinks Jake Is Jason, Liz Blames Painkillers

Paul, Jake and Morgan drive the action on Tuesday’s episode – these ‘General Hospital’ spoilers will get you ready for the September 22 show.

Paul Hornsby [Richard Burgi] opened his kimono and came clean to Ava Jerome [Maura West] about being the one behind all the recent mob violence and the one who pulled the trigger to try and kill Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard]. Ava is intrigued but doesn’t want to be the public face of the Jerome syndicate while Paul operates in the shadows.

Unfortunately, Ava will have no choice and will consent to it because of the strength it provides her. Ava and Paul also discuss Julian Jerome’s [William deVry] role in all of this. Paul has things set up perfectly. If Ava is the face of the syndicate, Julian controls the press in Port Charles and Paul lands the spot as DA, they can really take over the city.

Maxie Jones [Kirsten Storms] is intrigued by Paul’s shady past and his involvement with Tracy Quartermaine [Jane Elliot] once she gets the lowdown on all of his past cartel activities. But when Maxie asks Dillon Quartermaine [Robert Palmer Watkins] if he really trusts his dad, Dillon has to admit that he doesn’t 100% but would like to if things keep going well.

In other Jerome-adjacent news, Olivia Falconeri [Lisa LoCicero] can’t stand to be separated from baby Leo and wants him back with her, but she has to figure out how to keep him away from Julian so he’s safe. Olivia calls up Tracy and enlists her in a plot to get baby Leo back into town and also away from Julian. Tracy is more than happy to help.

Now on to Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig]. Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] finds Morgan with Julian, gun in hand, ready to take him out. Mikey rushes in past Alexis Davis [Nancy Lee Grahn] just as they hear a gunshot. Looks like no one will be fatally wounded – likely the bullet missed them both as they grappled for the gun. Michael has to drag Morgan away bodily.

Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] and TJ Ashford [Tequan Richmond] have a serious talk about recent events including Sonny’s shooting, Michael kicking Ric out of the hospital and acting like the boss. Both Ric and TJ have felt overwhelmed by Michael’s assumption of authority and neither seems thrilled with it – plus they are both worried sick about Sonny but feel like outsiders.

Sonny asks to speak to Jake Doe [Billy Miller] then goes off about how Jake is Jason. Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] is stunned when Sonny tells Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst] to tell Carly he’s Jason. Liz has to come up with some lies fast before anyone starts to believe Sonny’s ravings. Liz will blame it on Sonny’s trauma and the morphine painkiller.

Michael will vow that he’s going to make sure the family is safe and continues to assume more of a leadership role in the Corinthos clan. Carly doesn’t want Michael in the mob but he says it’s just business. Jake will step up to make sure Michael stays safe in his new role. Looks like Michael and Jake will have their hands full with the new threats from Paul plus Morgan.
