‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers Thurs, September 17: Evidence Missing, Julian Asks Alexis To Leave Town, Sonny Wakes Gets Worrisome News

First, Ava Jerome [Maura West] is feeling much happier and more confident about her trial than she expected to be. Ava happily calls her brother Julian Jerome [William deVry] to tell him that things are looking good and she hopes to be exonerated for the murder and be reunited with her daughter Avery soon. Julian is happy for her but concerned about himself.

DA Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] is in a panic because key evidence in the case against Ava is missing – namely, her confession to the crime. They don’t have any physical evidence so the confession was critical. Problem is, Scotty Baldwin [Kin Shriner] kept it as a souvenir. Ric asks for a continuance to prepare for the case and offers excuses but Scotty fights back hard.

The trial will go on and Ava is feeling good until she gets some upsetting news. Ava and Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] are due for a showdown any day now over baby Avery. Is Ava upset to hear that Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard] is doing better? Or is it other bad news that has her reeling and less optimistic about the future?

Julian takes Lucas Jones’ [Ryan Carnes] warning to heart about his physical safety in the wake of Sonny’s shooting. Julian knows Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] wants his head on a platter but always worries that Sonny’s minions may come at him. Julian needs to talk to Alexis Davis [Nancy Lee Grahn] who is just back in town from a visit with her daughter.

Alexis brings Kristina Corinthos-Davis [Lexi Ainsworth] back to Port Charles with her and it’s a happy reunion with her sisters, at least until Kristina and Alexis get the news that Sonny was shot. Kristina will run off to the hospital to check on her dad. Alexis asks Julian what’s up and Julian protests his innocence then asks Alexis to skip town with him until this all dies down.

Morgan isn’t ready to give up on the idea that Julian is the guilty party. Morgan has another fit of anger at the hospital – this time focused on TJ Ashford [Tequan Richmond]. Morgan blames TJ for luring Sonny to the warehouse where he was shot and TJ already feels awful enough about this. Morgan leans on TJ to provide evidence to implicate Julian in the shooting.

Morgan says TJ owes them – Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna] and Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] intervene and try to get Morgan back to reasonable but he’s deep off the rails in a bipolar spin. Will TJ cave in and go back and alter his statement to the cops and give false evidence against Julian because he feels so guilty?

Nathan West [Ryan Paevey] shows up to support Dante and tells his partner that he warned Valerie Spencer [Brytni Sarpi] to stay away from Dante so she doesn’t wreck their marriage. Nathan tells Dante that Valerie admitted she still has feelings for Dante. Does Dante still have lingering feelings for Valerie as well and that’s what is driving his guilt?

Dante wants to come clean to Lulu Spencer [Emme Rylan] about cheating with Valerie and ask for her forgiveness but Nathan tells him that’s a bad idea and could ruin his marriage. Valerie thinks about how she really feels about Dante. This is important because of the “medical” issue with Valerie that will arise soon and will directly impact both Dante and Lulu.

Sonny woke up pretty quickly after his surgery and is happy to see Carly there. Sonny says she and the kids are the reason he made it through the shooting and surgery. Sonny will be feeling optimistic about the future and wants to get married ASAP – but then Patrick Drake [Jason Thompson] will have news about Sonny’s spinal swelling that will worry everyone.
