‘General Hospital’ (GH) News: Michael Easton Discusses Rumors About Dr. Silas Clay’s Return

When “General Hospital” spoilers first revealed that Michael Easton’s character Dr. Silas Clay would be killed off from the ABC soap opera, GH fans were devastated. Silas Clay’s exit did not go over well, and his legions of devoted fans took to the internet to protest. Several petitions were even started begging ABC and TPTB to bring back the character.

Since Easton’s shocking exit from ABC’s “General Hospital,” rumors have been floating around that since the change in head writers – he could be making a return. Fans clung to hopes that their pleas and petitions were taken in to consideration and Michael Easton was on his way back to Port Charles. Michael took to his Facebook page on October 8th to debunk the rumors and set the record straight.
Easton shared this message with his followers: “MANY HAVE ASKED…Not sure how this rumor got started but I have not been within ten miles of the GH studio since I left in July. There were many questions about a recast or the use of a double but I have no information about any of that and you would have to ask the production. Thank you again for the kind words and for keeping me in your thoughts. Love, Michael.”

It is definitely interesting that Michael also mentioned the rumors floating around about a recast. Would production dare bring in another actor to play the part after all of the drama that Michael Easton’s exit caused to begin with? We know that no one is ever really “dead” on the ABC soap opera – but recasting the character would not set well with a lot of GH fans right now. What do you guys think? If they are going to recast don’t bother! Michael Easton is the only Clay I wanna see.

I think you should bring him back we need more doctors and make it he has a twin an it was the one that got killed you’re killing off all the doctors and all the male actors we need more actors as doctors and nurses this part of GH of General Hospital when so called actors / characters are hurt who are the one that’s going to be there Dr you have no one except Patrick and don’t get rid of Patrick have Robin come back or have someone from his past to come back thank you you really have a great show

Makes no sense to recast. Michael Easton shoukd be should be the one to return.

No, just no. It’s not Silas we miss, it’s Michael Easton as Silas that we miss.He could come back as Silas, or Caleb, or John McBain or someone else. A recast will not do it.
We don’t want Silas Clay recast. We want to see Michael Easton back. I don’t care how he comes back., just bring him back. I have watched him on Port Charles, OLTL and then GH. He is a great actor.
You could bring Michael back he was a triplet and is Silacs and Stephen’s brother or it was all of a horrible dream of dying and Silas is alive. It can be done you’ve done it a number of times on this show. It’s up to the ones who deside who comes and goes. Some times I think the writers don’t know who is coming and who is going. bring Silas back-and get rid of that useless Sam cant stand her character— good lord all she every does is make goo goo eyes with every male on the soap – please tell me who is looking after her kid while she is fawning over her latest five minute squeeze and galavanting around
We want Michael Easton back, I know I am open to him being brought back as a new character,
at least then we get to see him. And with a new fresh start the possibilities are endless….
