‘General Hospital’ (GH) News: Genie Francis Signs Three-Year Contract – Laura Spencer Staying in Port Charles

“General Hospital” spoilers are in, and it looks like the fan favorite; Genie Francis will be sticking around for quite some time- three years to be exact. TV guide reported on Twitter that Genie signed a lucrative daytime drama deal that would keep her in Port Charles for three years. And, that’s not all- Finola Hughes [Anna Devanne] will also be sticking around for years to come.

“We are thrilled that Genie and Finola will continue to make General Hospital their home for years to come,” said executive producer Frank Valentini. “These enormously talented actresses have created timeless characters that resonate with our fans.”

“General Hospital” fans called for her return, and she’s here to stay- Genie Francis will be making “GH” her home until 2018. For quite some time, the fans have wanted to see Laura Spencer brought back on canvas- and it looks like FOR ONCE fans got their way.

Laura Spencer was rumored to be instrumental in Jake [Billy Miller] learning about his true identity. It wasn’t clear if she told him or strongly urge his fiancée, Elizabeth Webber [Rebecca Herbst] to come clean- fans know that will NEVER happen!

Laura is a core character and important to the fiber of the show. With Luke Spencer [Anthony Geary] gone, her presence is even more vital to the show moving forward. Fans have complained that the show needs to have more of a balance- showing the older characters and younger ones.
