‘General Hospital’ (GH) News: Alum Annie Ilonzeh, Former Maya Ward, Scores Role On ‘Empire’

FOX’s hit drama “Empire” just added a “General Hospital” alum to their cast!  If you haven’t been watching “Empire,” then you need to start…ASAP.  According to a new report, the wildly popular musical drama just cast former “GH” star Annie Ilonzeh to play the part of Harper Scott, a TV reporter who will appear in 8 episodes.  “Empire” spoilers tease that Ilonzeh will make her debut on the hit drama in Spring 2016.

For those of you who don’t remember Ilonzeh, she starred on “General Hospital” from 2010 – 2011 as Maya Ward for a total of 79 episodes.  Maya worked at the hospital in Port Charles as an intern, and she lived with her great grandfather Edward Quartermaine, she also took over custody of her little sister Zoe after her stepmother passed away and she was also a love interest of Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons).  Eventually Maya moved away to Philadelphia and left Port Charles for good, her marriage to Lovett went bust when it was revealed that she had been cheating on him with another man.  Since leaving “GH” Annie boasts a pretty impressive resume, she starred on “Melrose Place,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and a handful of movies.
