“General Hospital” issued another casting call for an African American woman, according to Soap Opera Digest. They noted specifically that they are seeking a well-established soap star to step into the role. Fans immediately speculated who could be cast in the mysterious role.
“General Hospital” stated that they are looking for an African American actress for a reoccurring roles. The actor should be in her mid-fifties to sixties, and be strong and dynamic. The casting call stressed that they are only seeking well-known actresses for this confidential and important role. They will start filming by the end of November.
It seems like “General Hospital” is always looking for another cast member, when they under -utilized some of the best reoccurring actresses in daytime TV. For example, Epiphany [Sonya Eddy] is rarely seen and a fan favorite. When the head scribe took over a few months ago, Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman promised the fans that they would not add any more cast to the show. The fact is, the fans do not want to see new faces in Port Charles, they want to see their favorites used and written brilliantly.
When the casting call was released, immediately fans felt that the role was perfect for Debbi Morgan. She has been absent from the daytime scene for a little while and it would be a perfect role for her to get her feet wet. Lynne Whitfield was also suggested as fitting the casting call to a tee. Who would you like to see in the role?
