‘General Hospital’ Casting News: Emma Samms Returns To GH – Holly Sutton-Scorpio Back For Luke’s Goodbye

“General Hospital” star Luke Spencer may be leaving Port Charles, but not until he has a run in with a former lover. As you know, Anthony Geary, who plays Luke, has announced that he will be leaving the ABC soap, for good this time. He told TV Line, “I’m just weary of the grind and have been for 20 years. I really don’t want to die, collapsing in a heap, on that GH set one day. That wouldn’t be too poetic.” Geary tells the outlet that he made the decision to officially leave GH in January 2015.

We now know thanks to General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini, that Luke Spencer will have a run in with none other than Holly Sutton-Scorpio, played by Emma Samms. We are sure you can recall the love triangle between Luke, Holly, and Robert, and now it seems that the writers over at General Hospital want to reintroduce Luke and Holly before Luke leaves town.

Valentini made the announcement via Twitter and said, “@EmmaSamms1 is coming back to @GeneralHospital !! Very excited! #GH”

Head writer Ron Carlivati also tweeted in regards to the announcement. Carlivati said, “Fire up the spaceship! #GH #HollyIsBack @EmmaSamms!”

Lastly, Samms also chimed in and said, “Hooray! I don’t have to keep the secret anymore…”

Emma Samms joins Genie Francis, who plays Laura, as one of the characters that has been brought back to General Hospital as part of Anthony Geary’s goodbye.

Anthony Geary will continue to shoot the daytime drama until late June, and his final episodes will air in July.

We are excited to see who else, in addition to Genie Francis and Emma Samms, will return to General Hospital to say goodbye to Luke Spencer as he departs Port Charles.
