Daytime Stars From CBS’s ‘The Young And The Restless’ And ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ Celebrate National Mutt Day

July 31 was National Mutt Day, and CBS shared some amazing pictures of “The Young and the Restless” and “Bold and the Beautiful” actors and actresses posing with their favorite mutts to bring awareness to the important day. National Mutt Day began back in 2005 and was created to encourage new owners to adopt mutts from a shelter, rather than paying top dollar for a pure bred dog from a kennel or breeder. While breeders are charging top dollar for pure bred dogs, there are perfectly good mutts sitting in shelters all around the country waiting for a new home – and they cost practically nothing, and have sadly been overlooked and tossed aside because of their mixed breed.

To help bring attention to National Mutt Day and the growing number of mutts who desparately need forever homes and are currently living in shelters, CBS shared some super adorable photos of some of our favorite daytime stars with their favorite mutts. Some of “The Young and the Restless” stars who helped celebrate National Mutt Day were Hunter Haley King, who posed with her mutt Dallas and Kelly Sullivan and her mutt Gepetto.

Of course “Bold and the Beautiful” stars got in on the action too – which is no surprise seeing as how the CBS soap has been working hard to bring awareness to animals in need and local shelters for years, they have even teamed up with Bob Barker on more than one occasion. John McCook, who you most likely know as Eric Forrester shared a super cute picture of his small mutt, and revealed that he may be cute and fluffy – but he is actually an excellent guard dog and refuses to let any man other than John in to their house.
