Daytime Soap Halloween Costumes: The Good, The Bad and Everything Else!

It’s spooktacular fashion week on the daytime dramas with the shows in the full swing Halloween spirit. Fans look forward to the Halloween episodes to see the costumes their favorites chose to wear. Soap Opera Spy has the scoop on the good, the bad, and everything else in between.

“The Young and the Restless” costume director Scott Burkhart stated when he heard they were planning a big Halloween bash; he was excited about the costume possibilities. “My team and I immediately took out a pencil and paper and started drawing the creations for the cast. It was a fun project- maybe the most entertaining of the year, “Burkhart explained. Once the writing team gave the green light on the costumes, we tweaked the drawings to have a more refined look. “Our design team is on their A game. Our costumes this year was nothing short of amazing, quality designs,” Gina Tognoni bragged. The costumes were built for the cast member and fit them exactly.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” Halloween bash was an eventful show stopper. Not only did the party have drama brewing with Wyatt [Darin Brooks] and Thomas [Pierson Fode] love triangle with Ivy [Ashleigh Brewer], but the costumes were outrageous- typical of the “B&B” costume director. “Big Brother 17” houseguests, Johnny Macguire, Meg Maley, and James Huling showed up for the party, dressed up in their party apparel.

“General Hospital” Halloween bash happens every year at the Haunted Star. Each year, there is some huge secret that is revealed that will shake Port Charles to the core. Last year, Carly [Laura Wright] was dumped by Franco [Roger Howarth], and revealed to son, Michael [Chad Duell] that Sonny [Maurice Benard] killed his biological father. This year, it looks like another huge secret will come out while most of the town is there celebrating the festive event- all decked out in costumes.

As for the actual costumes, “The Young and the Restless” scored a home run. Melissa Ordway’s Daisy from “Great Gatsby” was flawless. Melody Thomas Scott’s Mae West costume was gorgeous. One costume that was not up to par was Miles Gaston Villanueva’s Greek warrior costume. Burgess Jenkins’ Wizard of Oz costume was the star of the show, with a pin on his jacket to honor Delia [Sophie Pollono].

“General Hospital” costumes were on their A game, too. Bryan Craig’s Captain pirates costume was funny, yet well put together. Brynti Sarpy’s 50’s girl was another great costume. Soap Opera Spy didn’t see a costume that was bad, per say on “GH.”
