‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Drake Hogestyn Confirms That John Is Paul’s Father – Get Ready for a “New Side of John Black”

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers tease that John’s (Drake Hogestyn) life is about to get a lot more complicated. For weeks, DOOL fans have speculated that Paul (Christopher Sean) could be John’s son. It seemed suspicious that John was suddenly inserted into Paul’s storyline and Tori’s (Hira Ambrosino) reaction to John sealed the deal. Will (Guy Wilson) assumed that Paul was a DiMera, but it looks like “Days” viewers knew best. In an interview with Michael Logan at TV Insider, Drake Hogestyn confirmed that John is indeed Paul’s father. Hogestyn said that John will be “excited to see Tori” and he’ll view her as a woman he had some fun with in his younger days. The pair parted ways and John “never imagined that those couple of nights they spent together had resulted in a child.”

It seems Tori tried to tell John, but it was around the time he was devoting his life to God as a priest. Tori apparently decided it was better to keep Paul a secret and let John move on. Drake Hogestyn acknowledged that the timeline doesn’t exactly add up, but ultimately “you can sit at home and resist it or you can just go with it.” Hogestyn is certainly going with it. He stated that he’s ready to roll up his sleeves and “embrace a new side of John Black.” Many DOOL watchers will enjoy having John around more as he tries to transition into “dear old Dad.” The updates to the character will provide more opportunities for “Days of Our Lives” to focus on love, family and connection. Hogestyn noted that “really rich, old-school stuff” is what fans are looking for.

Once John gets over the shock, he’ll be happy to hear the news. Unfortunately, Paul won’t be as pleased with the bombshell—at least at first. Still, it sounds like Paul will come around eventually. Hogestyn described an upcoming scene in which John expresses regret about missing out on playing catch with his son. Paul will respond “We can still do that, Dad.” The rumors say John’s growing bond with Paul may bring John and Marlena (Deidre Hall) closer as well. Get your tissues ready and stick with “Days of Our Lives” to see how John’s new storyline plays out.
