‘Days of Our Lives’ News: Kate Mansi Health Update – DOOL Star on the Mend After Emergency Surgery – Abigail’s Okay!

After having emergency laparoscopic surgery for internal bleeding, Kate Mansi is recovering nicely. Mansi, who plays Abigail Deveraux on “Days of Our Lives,” mentioned her surgery via Twitter after being forced to cancel scheduled performances of “If All the Sky Were Paper.” Mansi apologized to everyone who bought tickets to the play and thanked her fans for their kind words. “Thanks for all the well wishes,” Mansi tweeted. She also noted that the support she received throughout the ordeal was “the silver lining.”

One of Kate Mansi’s DOOL costars was especially supportive. Mansi posted a picture on Instagram of Melissa Reeves, who stopped by for a visit shortly after the procedure. Reeves plays Abigail’s mother, Jennifer, on “Days of Our Lives,” but it looks like their close bond extends off-screen. Mansi recently told Soap Opera Digest that Reeves insisted on visiting her while she was recovering at her family’s home. Reeves brought by a few magazines on March 14, which also happened to be her birthday. Mansi noted that Reeves said she wanted to visit at least one of her “children,” since her own family was out of town. “Missy’s visit was the first time I really felt like the worst was over,” Mansi said. “She made me laugh so much that night.” Mansi added that “The healing power of a mother’s love is really something.”

Fortunately for DOOL fans, Abigail won’t have to take a backseat while Mansi mends. The shooting schedule for the NBC soap will allow Abigail to remain a part of the action in Salem. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers hint that Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) will soon ask Abigail a life-changing question. Could wedding bells be in Ben and Abby’s future? The rumors say Abigail will have a big decision to make, but for now it’s just nice to know that Kate Mansi is on the mend and has better “Days” ahead. Mansi said she’s “focusing on positivity and progress.”
