“Days of Our Lives” fans are responding to the new writing and the return of fan favorites by delivering high ratings, most notably with women ages 18-49. And don’t forget, more veteran actors will be coming back to reprise their roles as “DOOL” celebrates its 50th anniversary. Expect to see Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) next week.
According to Michael Fairman “Days of Our Lives” ratings for the week of September 7th through the 11th “DOOL” had a 34-week high for women in the 18-49 age group. Fairman also reports that in the women 18-34 age group the daytime drama had its highest ratings in 49 weeks. And it gets better! “Days of Our Lives” earned its highest woman 18-49 rating in eight months – that’s since the week of January 12-16 and remained steady in the ratings with women 18-34 in nearly 12 months – that’s since September 29 through October 3, 2014.
To date for this season of “Days of Our Lives” is #7 in the women 18-49 category and #12 in the women to 18-34 category. For September 7th through September 11th versus the week before “DOOL” increased 11% in the women 18-49 age demographic (0.80 vs. 0.72) and increased an impressive 28% in the women 18-34 age group (0.45 vs. 0.36). These increased ratings mean great things for both “Days of Our Lives” and fans. Obviously the writers and TPTB are doing something right and fans are rewarding them by coming back and watching their beloved soap opera.
Are you excited about the changes at “DOOL”? Are you one of the fans who has come back to watch Patch Johnson (Stephen Nichols), Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Sami Brady (Allison Sweeney) and Andre DiMera return to Salem? Who else are you hoping will return – or are looking forward to returning? And do you think the increase in ratings will continue for “Days of Our Lives”?

“DOOL has ……. by delivering high ratings, most notably with women ages 18-49.” I so disagree!!!! You have forgotten about all of your viewers OVER 49 who have watched your show since the first day that it was on TV!!!! I am 64 years and you could not find a more loyal DOOL viewer!!! But my age group has been forgotten, especially by advertisers!! When, my age group has more money to spend that any of the younger age groups do … we don’t have to raise children any longer and when we retire, we are at the top of our wage bracket!!! So, I don’t think you should count us out!!!!!
