‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) News: Thaao Penghlis Safe And Headed Home from Mexico After Hurricane Patricia

“Days of Our Lives” (DOOL) Thaao Penghlis (Andre DiMera) is safe and headed home after being stuck in Mexico during Hurricane Patricia. The actor tweeted on October 25 that he and his fellow travelers are headed home.

Penghlis tweeted on October 23 that he was in Mexico and had received news that a category five hurricane was about to hit. “Took a quick trip to Mexico before DOOL’50th. Stuck here as record cat. 5 about to hit. Pray. DiMeras never do anything frivolous.” Of course “Days” fans were worried and offered prayers and pleaded with the actor to stay safe. One fan told the actor that he should leave if it was possible. Thaao Penghlis replied, “everything is shut down.”

On October 24 Thaao updated fans on the situation and thanked fans for their prayers calling them miracle workers. “Thank you all for your prayers, you miracle workers. it seems the worst has left the area. Just heavy rains & wind. But ran out of food.” Of course “Days of Our Lives” viewers were thrilled to hear that the actor, author and world-traveler was safe. But Thaao was still stuck in Mexico until the heavy rain and wind died down and the airport was able to reopen.

An update from Penghlis on October 25 assured fans that things were under control and Hurricane Patricia had passed. He thanked fans again for all their support and let them know he would soon be headed home. “Days of Our Lives” head writer Dena Higley tweeted, “Thank God you’re safe. Been keeping you in my prayers. Gonna take more than a hurricane to slow you down, dear friend.” Thaoo replied, “Thanks Dena. Finally getting out today. It seems life is about making adjustments, then the rewards come.”

We’re relieved to hear that our favorite villain is safe and back home in the U.S.A.! Now, let’s get ready to celebrate 50 years of “Days of Our Lives”!
