‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) News: Réal Andrews Cast As Mystery Character – ‘General Hospital’ Alum To Share More Details Soon

“Days of Our Lives” has cast “General Hospital” (GH) alum Réal Andrews as an as-yet-unnamed character. Andrews shared the news with fans via Facebook and Instagram.

Réal is perhaps best known to soap opera fans as Detective Marcus Taggert, a nemesis of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) and Jason Morgan (then Steve Burton, now Billy Miller). Detective Taggart was last seen in Port Charles in May 2003.

Since leaving “General Hospital” Andrews has built has undertaken careers as a motivational speaker, 24/7 Success Coach, and Whole Health Ambassador. The actor also hosts a one-hour radio show on KHTS AM 1220 in Santa Clarita, California on Wednesdays. Now Réal Andrews is headed back to daytime on the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives.”

In October “DOOL” put out a casting call for a “gorgeous male between 38 and 45-years-old.” According to reports the working name for this character is “Hal” and he is the father of a 19-year-old girl. Another casting call for “Days of Our Lives” in October was for a character named “Clark” in the same age range that is described as a “hot bad boy.” Réal Andrews fits both character descriptions.

The roles mentioned are for short-term storylines and most likely have begun taping. Réal made the announcement on November 11 – “I am back. Thanks for all your support. Stay tune for details. Thank you Jesus #soapoperas #daysofourlives #generalhospital #gh #Advocare.” Andrews posted a photo of himself in what appears to be a car and the actor is giving the thumbs up and has a big smile. It looks as if he may be on the lot ready for taping. If so, expect to see Réal’s character sometime in April or May, as “Days of Our Lives” tapes approximately six months in advance.
