Good news for “Days of Our Lives” fans, it looks like the rumors were right. Emmy award winner Vincent Irizarry is joining the cast of “DAYS,” according to Serial Scoop on Sunday. It was six years ago today that Irizarry won his Daytime Award for his work on the soap, “All My Children.” Irizarry is an experienced soap actor- with roles on “Santa Barbara,” “All My Children,” and “Young and the Restless.” Fans are excited because they know Irizarry will fit in perfectly with the “Days of Our Lives” cast. What role will he portray on the show?
When his casting news hit social media, fans couldn’t help but speculate about his new character. There is no official word on the character’s name or storyline yet. It was hinted that the mysterious character could be a dangerous one.
On August 18, it was posted that “Days” was planning on bringing an established soap opera star to the show. There was no information about the character at the time- they referred to the casting call as a blind casting. Fans speculated who could be the mystery new cast member, and many Twitter fans were right- Vincent Irizarry will be joining the cast. The show has not released any other information about his role, storyline, or romance possibilities- yet.
In Dec 2013, rumors swirled that “General Hospital” wanted him to portray the role of Valentin Cassadine. It would have been a great role for him-, and the fans were thrilled about the possibility. It turned out to either not work out for him or was just another casting rumor. “Days” was lucky to snag him, and he will be a great addition to the cast.
