This irreverent soap/comedy introduces us to Angela as she arrives home to find a ‘5150’ has been called on her because friends and family believe she is a danger to herself and to others. ‘5150’ is the term used for a three-day involuntary admission to a psychiatric facility.
Crista Flanagan is the central character Angela – she has 72 hours to prove to her husband, best friend, therapist, and even the nanny, that she is indeed sane. Eden Riegel, also of “All My Children” fame (Bianca Montgomery), will pop in for the initial four episodes as the character Seven. Deidre Hall will appear for one episode as Nadine.
If the preview is any indication, “Club 5150” will have you laughing out loud as Angela’s therapist Dr. Pope (Adrienne Wilkinson) gathers family and friends for an intervention. The good doctor assures Angela that they are gathered to help not to judge. But, the first thing that Angela needs to do is hand over the glass of wine she’s chugging. “This is a protein shake. It’s fortified with antioxidant grapes. I’m depleted after a rigorous Zumba workout.”
Michael and Barbara Caruso, the producers of “Winterthorne,” bring fans another four-part web series, hopefully more, to the Internet. Be warned, the web series is PG-13 and viewer discretion is advised. Steve Silverman wrote and directed all four episodes of “Club 5150.”
