Katherine said, “There are no sweeter words than hearing the words, ‘You are an iron man [or woman].” She noted that the competition was something she wanted to do a long time, and felt like since she was in Australia it was the ideal time to knock it out of the park.
Katherine wore the number 1869 for the race and updated her follows via social media throughout the competition. After the biking portion of the race, she noted that she was feeling strong and thought that she could complete the shebang in less than seven hours. She was right on the money, completing the race in six hours and 40 minutes!

Lang went to social media on Saturday to encourage ALL women to train and train for a triathlon. “I want to do all I can do to encourage all women into training for a triathlon,” Katherine said. She went on to state, “I am so excited to be here in Sydney and be a part of the race.” After the race, she told the press that she would be back next year to complete.
