‘All My Children’ (AMC) News: Kelly Ripa Receives Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

“All My Children” (AMC) alum Kelly Ripa – and current co-host of “Live with Kelly and Michael” – was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lots of amazing things happening for Kelly this year! She is celebrating 15 years with the daytime talk show and won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

Kelly Ripa joined the cast of “All My Children” in 1990 as Hayley Vaughn – the teenage niece of Trevor Dillon (James Kiberd). Eventually Hayley discovered her biological father was Adam Chandler (David Canary). Ripa met husband Mark Consuelos on the set – he starred as her love interest and then husband Mateo Santos. Kelly stayed with “AMC” until 2002 when she left the show to take over the spot left vacant by Kathy Lee Gifford on “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.” She did return in 2010 for the 40th anniversary “All My Children” special.

Jimmy Kimmel and hubby Mark Consuelos were on hand when Kelly’s star was revealed. Ripa took to Instagram and posted a photo of her brand spanking new star. The caption read – “The official star. Thank you everyone for this extraordinary honor. #walkoffame.”

During her acceptance speech Kelly said, “You have to surround yourself with people that are better than you and that’s what I’ve managed to do in my career.” The actress, talk show host and spokeswoman for Colgate also thanked the cast and crew of “AMC” saying, “I joined this incredible acting community in ‘All My Children,’ and it was a brilliant ensemble cast.” And she didn’t leave out her first talk show co-host! “Then I got to sit next to Regis Philbin, who taught me how to be a story teller.”

Congratulations to Kelly Ripa on receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
