‘All My Children’ News: Alum Josh Duhamel Stars In New Movie ‘Lost In The Sun’

“All My Children” alum Josh Duhamel’s (ex-Leo du Pres) new movie “Lost in the Sun” will be available at Redbox locations on Tuesday, December 29. Fans can also find the movie on Amazon, iTunes and other On Demand VOD systems.

Duhamel portrays John, a drifter, a grifter and small time crook. John kidnaps a newly-orphaned teenage boy, Louis [Josh Wiggins]. The unlikely duo sets out on a crime spree and forges an unexpected and powerful bond. The film also stars Lynn Collins [Dawn Green, “True Blood,” Olga Akarova, “Covert Affairs”] as Mary. The actor describes the character as dark, brooding, disturbed and flawed human being – and very different from any role he has ever undertaken. “All My Children” may not even recognize Duhamel.

The storyline of “Lost in the Sun” is simple, but intense. It was a project that Duhamel came across approximately two or three years ago when the writer sent him a letter explaining his vision of the film. Duhamel was intrigued and decided to work with the writer Trey Nelson, and first time director, on “Lost in the Sun.”

The character of John didn’t start out as a drifter. John doesn’t necessarily want to be a criminal, but out of desperation and his inability to follow rules and obey laws he has found himself in a dire situation. John involves Louis in his desperate attempt to survive.

The trailer for “Lost in the Sun” gives just a glimpse into the darkness that dwells within the character. Some people can see all your mistakes. The way you hold it in your shoulders, show it in your face. “How long can one man survive? How far can one man go before his past catches up with him?” John may find redemption that he seeks. You will need to watch the movie to find out. It is definitely worth renting and should be watched more than once.
