“All My Children” alum Josh Duhamel took to Twitter to dispel any rumors that he is joining the cast of the ABC drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” A soap opera website reported that he would join the cast sometime during the winter of 2015 or 2016. Duhamel says nope…not true!
Duhamel, who also confirmed via Twitter that the CBS comedy “Battle Creek” will not return for a second season, let fans know he wasn’t really sure how the rumor got started. “Don’t know where this came from, but I’m not doing Grey’s Anatomy, much respect for the show, but not true.” Later another tweet from Josh Duhamel directed at the soap website said simply, “Not true.”
Daytime drama is where Josh Duhamel got his feet wet, starring as Leo du Pres on “All My Children” opposite Rebecca Budig as Greenlee Smythe. Leo came to Pine Valley to track down his mother Vanessa Bennett Cortlandt (Marj Dusay) and her new and very wealthy new husband Palmer Cortlandt (James Mitchell). Soap opera fans had hoped that Josh Duhamel might follow his former co-star Rebecca Budig to “General Hospital” (GH) but that was just wishful thinking – it was never a serious consideration on either side.
After leaving “All My Children” Josh went on to star in the NBC drama “Las Vegas” as Danny McCoy opposite former “GH” star Vanessa Marcil as Samantha “Sam” Marquez for five seasons. He is currently filming the mini-series “11/23/63” based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. The mini-series will also star “General Hospital” alum – James Franco.
The rumors of Josh Duhamel joining the cast of the ABC drama “Grey’s Anatomy” have been put to rest by the actor himself. As much as fans would like to see the handsome actor fill the void left when Patrick Dempsey’s character Dr. Derek Shepard was killed off last season, it’s not going to happen.
