Weekly Soap Opera Ratings December 26-30: Y&R And B&B Ratings Up – GH Ratings Fall Below DOOL

The soap opera ratings for the week of December 26 through December 30 have been reported by Soap Opera Network. The Young and the Restless, The Bold and The Beautiful and Days of Our Lives enjoyed higher ratings across the board with total viewers and women 18-49.
It wasn’t a happy holiday for General Hospital. Ratings dipped in both total viewers and with the women 18-49 demographic, placing the daytime drama in the number four position. More viewers tuned in the week of December 26-30 to ‘DOOL’ than to ‘GH.’
DAYS OF OUR LIVES
DOOL ratings for the week of December 26-30 rang in the New Year with increase in total viewers with 2,547,000 watching over the previous week. That is an increase of 91,000 in that category. ‘DOOL’ also enjoyed a bump in the ratings with 423,000 women 18-49 watching. That’s an increase of 14,000 viewers. This ratings increase in both demographics puts ‘Days of Our Lives’ in the number three position, beating out ‘General Hospital.’
GENERAL HOSPITAL
GH may have enjoyed a Merry Christmas but it certainly isn’t having a Happy New Year. The soap opera had 2,535,000 total viewers and that is a loss of 153,000 over the previous week. Not only was total viewership down, but ‘GH’ had a drop in women viewers 18-49 with 402,000 watching the week of December 26-30. That represents a loss of 83,000 in this demographic, putting ‘General Hospital’ in fourth place in the ratings.
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
Soap Opera Network reports an increase of an incredible 266,000 total viewers for ‘B&B’ the week of December 26-30 with 4,018,00 tuned in, The Bold and the Beautiful continued to attract women viewers age 18-49 with 532,000 tuned in. That’s an increase of 17,000 viewers in this demographic over the previous week.
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
‘Y&R’ ratings for the week of December 26 through December 30 continued to bring the CBS soap opera holiday cheer. ‘The Young and the Restless’ had 4,750,000 total viewers which represents a gain of 21,000 total viewers during the week after Christmas. The soap opera also saw an increase in the ratings with women viewers 18-49 with 585,000 tuned in. That represents a gain of 10,000 from the previous week.
