‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victoria Struggling With Single Parenthood – Reed Needs Guidance and Love

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) didn’t ask Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) to come to live with her on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Instead, he was brought to her house by a police officer on New Year’s Eve after running away from his father’s abode. Yes, Vickie is facing the harsh headwinds of modern times.

People who push so-called progress often do so without any evidence that whatever theories are being stressed have ever worked, or proved sustainable in the real world. Emotional ploys pitting one sex against the other are often intended to separate women and men instead of keeping them together. Power isn’t gained as a result, chaos is. And thus our story loops back to Reed.

J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Vickie haven’t been together in years. Because they aren’t, Reed lived with his father until recently. That all changed when this 15-year-old child decided that he was a man. He refused to go with his dad and step-family to Poland, where J.T.’s work assignment took him.

Adults who cede power to children as a result of their own past actions are irresponsible, but not irredeemable. Those noted actions create ripple effects that last indefinitely and can’t always be exactly measured. So, Reed is hardly to blame in this scenario. No, J.T. and Vickie created the environment where their son lived with half of his family and now lives with half of the other.

Viewers can see that Reed is a good-hearted young man who simply needs structure and guidance. He, like everyone, also would benefit from male influence, along with the influence of a strong mother. Undeniable human history proves that point valid.

Vickie is doing her best, as she also continues to raise two children, one of whom (Katie, Sienna Mercuri) she kind-heartedly adopted a few years ago. Miss Newman simply needs help and might be moving closer to actually asking for it. Modern voices might be clouding her judgment, insisting that she go it alone. How recklessly wrong that belief is for Genoa City society and the real world we all live in. Personal sacrifice within any relationship isn’t meant to be easy, despite what the go-along-to-get-along crowd wouldn’t know.

Raising children is the most important job of all-time. Great parents accomplish that magnificent task by being ever-ready to make constant self-sacrifices, which includes staying together. Constant pursuit of a me, me, me philosophy is only embraced by childish adults.

More important than being a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, wearing a white collar, a blue collar or no collar at all. All paid jobs, or vocations if one feels so highly of oneself, always fall below the more important work of helping to form the lives of people like Reed and all other children around the globe.
