The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victoria Plays the Long Game – Phyllis Holds Temporary Ground, Who Will Win Billy?

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) has mostly masked her feelings on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Knowing that her own actions pushed Billy (Jason Thompson) into Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) arms, Miss Newman has opted to play the long game. She’s fronting a super sweet face for the man she wants and offers a similar smile to the woman he’s chosen.

This tactic is different than ones she’s taken in the past. Of course, Vickie often always appeared to assume that she was Billy’s only choice. Vickie believed she was Billy’s soul mate because he remains hers. Taking people’s feelings for granted is a Newman family trait.

That’s part of the rub for Victoria. This marks the first time that she’s not sure if Billy has truly moved on, or widened his heart to include space for another woman. She doesn’t actually know if Phyllis is Billy’s current muse and that’s unsettling. So battle plans have been created and Round 1 has already taken place.

Billy was surprised when Vickie said that she would be okay with him coming over to her house every night to tuck the kids into bed. Her resilient attitude and continued pleasant interaction with him at Brash and Sassy wasn’t expected, but was seen as a sign of maturity and goodwill.

Learning that ‘Philly’ had reconciled in the way that she did wasn’t good. But Vickie recovered from the elevator door debacle. This Newman lady has learned from her mother (‘Picky Nikki’ or ‘Pikki Nikki’?, Melody Thomas Scott) how to fight for her perceived man. Vickie knows what she wants and is prepared to defeat Tognoni’s more vulnerable version of Phyllis using any means necessary.

Billy doesn’t hasn’t yet caught on to his ex-wife’s strategy. But he’ll potentially gain a deeper understanding of her methods when the coming jaunt to Los Angeles takes place. That business trip will afford Vickie an opportunity to show Billy what he’s missing, needs and really wants, in her opinion.
