Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) prerecorded more than just one set of scenes before she left the cast of ‘The Young and the Restless’. As viewers saw this week, via Victor’s (Eric Braeden) flashbacked recollections, the ‘Moustache’ caught up with Chloe after she’d escaped Genoa City on the Newman jet. Then he bribed her to go further and never come back.
Let’s begin by challenging those who would question Victor’s actions. Yes, critique the critics.

What options did the ‘Black Knight’ have? He orchestrated Chloe’s release from the mental health facility in California and then used this mentally unbalanced person to do his bidding by framing Adam (Justin Hartley) for the concocted murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman).
Victor hasn’t had any good options from the time period on.
Chloe has openly stated that she’d rat Victor out if he ever turned her in to the authorities. Victor knows that his bases aren’t as fully covered as they normally are. So, holding that bad hand, he’s remained boxed in.
Instead of chasing Chloe to Canada to create a cement shoe solution, Victor took plenty of cash and advised his bad partner to disappear. He knows his directive isn’t foolproof, as Chloe could return at any point in the future. And on the soaps, that happens quite often with characters who’ve been written out.
Victor is gambling that Chloe will permanently fear returning to a padded cell. Therefore, he’s hoping that she’ll embrace his advice and use the payoff to start a new life as far away from Genoa City as is possible. As an added incentive, Victor also agreed to make sure Bella’s then-potential fathers received Chloe’s bombshell letters. That solved the mystery as to how those handwritten notes arrived and why they appeared to originate from vastly different points of origin.
However, the idea that Chloe would go to such extreme lengths to produce Delia 2, aka Bella (Cali May Kinder), and then never see her again is a stretch. Yes, she’s in good hands with her father, Kevin (Greg Rikaart). But Chloe’s kooky thoughts overwhelmed whatever is left of her sense of reason so often in the past. So why won’t the same twisted pattern repeat itself in the future as well?
