‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday January 5: Devon Wakes up – Sharon Spots Nick and Chelsea’s Embrace – Gloria’s News Stuns Kevin and Chloe

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Thursday, January 5, tease that Gloria (Judith Chapman) will stun Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). At Crimson Lights, Gloria will insist that she’s going to drop by Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) studio and brighten her day. She’ll reveal that she intends on going back to work.

Kevin will immediately flash an unsure look at Chloe. She’ll swallow her coffee a bit too hard when she hears Gloria’s news. They may try to talk Gloria out of her plans, but that’s going to be difficult. Gloria is obviously one of the most stubborn women around town.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s day will already be a little brighter thanks to Nick (Joshua Morrow). He’ll pop in the studio and they’ll talk about New Year’s Eve. It looks like Nick and Chelsea will reiterate their desire to remain friends. They’re hoping to preserve their strong bond.

Chelsea and Nick can say whatever they want, but their actions tell a different story. That was quite a kiss and it appears they’re about to share a hug that’s beyond friendly. Sharon (Sharon Case) will walk in on their warm embrace. She’ll certainly notice that these two are getting closer.

How will Sharon feel about that? She once tried to do some matchmaking for Nick and Chelsea, but a lot has happened since then. Will Sharon still think “Chick” is a good idea? We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s clear that some awkwardness is on the way.

Other “Young and the Restless” spoilers say Devon (Bryton James) will wake up in his hospital bed. Thursday’s Y&R preview video shows Devon struggling to open his eyes. Stitch (Sean Carrigan) will talk Devon through it so he can assess his condition.

Devon’s accident resulted in some serious injuries, including a severe concussion and some internal organ damage. He’s got a long road to recovery ahead of him. As for his relationship with Hilary (Mishael Morgan), it’s tough to say where it stands.

Devon’s brush with death might make him more forgiving. Then again, he could blame Hilary for the whole thing. Regardless, there’s plenty of work to be done in this marriage. “The Young and the Restless” rumors hint that Hilary and Devon will face additional challenges in the coming months.
