Neil (Kristoff St. John) acted with hypocrisy on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He encouraged Colin (Tristan Rogers) to leave Genoa City and even offered to float him a loan to pay for a one-way plane ticket back to Australia. Viewers haven’t forgotten Mr. Winters’ recent indiscretions, which makes his implied intent of helping Lily (Christel Khalil) and her family seem false.

No, Neil’s battle with the bottle through the years isn’t being compared to Colin’s free-will character flaws. Instead the names of Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and Gwen Randall (Nadine Nicole) are being offered for consideration.

Hilary is hardly a saint, while Gwen was a poor soul. Their common link is that Neil behaved badly toward both women and now wants to look down on Colin because of how he’s treated Jill (Jess Walton)?
‘Heil’ didn’t last long and appears to have been a one-way relationship from the jump. Neil deserves full credit for having forgiven Ann Turner, which is Hilary’s real name.
Ann targeted him and his family because she believed Neil left her mother alone to die after a night of drinking. The woman who called herself Hilary eventually admitted everything and married Neil.
Neil went blind after recklessly attempting to handle an electrical problem in the dream home he purchased for his bride. During that time Hilary and Devon (Bryton James) became involved. Neil later regained his sight and at that exact moment caught ‘Hevon’ kissing. Neil withheld that information from everyone for awhile before confronting the couple. He later claimed all was forgiven, but it wasn’t.

Devon’s girlfriend Gwen later fell in love with Neil. He used her affection and assistance during the time when he was hiding Hilary. That came after he confronted his then-daughter-in-law during ‘Hevon’s’ honeymoon on a remote island. Hilary accidentally fell off a cliff, suffered head trauma and went into a coma. In real life Morgan was about to give birth and temporarily left the show.
Neil must have compartmentalized what he’s done in the recent past. Colin isn’t a good guy. But Neil has no right to try and push him out of town, especially after recently encouraging Colin to become the man Jill fell in love with. And Neil also shouldn’t use the excuse that he wants Colin gone in order to protect Lily and his grandchildren.
