The worst possible person learned Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) secret on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Omnipresent Hilary (Mishael Morgan) arrived at Brash and Sassy’s, uh corporate offices this week just in time to overhear a conversation. Cane was talking with Juliet (Laur Allen) about their unexpected Tokyo dance, backdrop music played and Morgan’s face was shown in a timed reaction shot.

Hilary later confronted Juliet, which means that Miss Helton will scare the life out of Cane when she relays that information. What are you going to do Mr. Ashby, fake your death again to try and escape this mess?

Lily (Christel Khalil) has been in the dark about her husband’s multiple bad maneuvers, the latest of which involves him sabotaging Billy (Jason Thompson) in California and therefore jeopardizing Brash and Sassy’s reputation. She’ll be mortified if, wait, this is Hilary, okay, when her arch enemy rubs Cane’s indiscretion in her pretty face.
‘Hill the Shrill’, gossip queen extraordinaire will relish the chance to topple ‘Lane’s’ world. And that’s the problem with Lily always having been so high and mighty with her ex-mother-in-law, who’s also her ex-sister-in-law.
Viewers knew trouble was coming as Cane downed each of those 10 sake bombs a few months ago. Becoming more fluid and less lucid with each gulp, Cane also set events in motion that seem likely to end his marriage and his job.
Y&R picked a course for Cane to walk on awhile ago. In an effort to jazz up Father Knows Best, Sally Sussman and her writing team turned Genoa City’s most reliable husband and father into a Billy Abbott derivative.
It remains to be seen if this strategic choice will play out in a way that remains engaging. However, all who claim that this storyline isn’t believable should ask themselves a question. Have they ever known anyone who’s taken a similar, or even a mini nosedive? Consider all family members, friends, co-workers, neighbors, or whoever.
It would seem impossible to believe that everyone answered no. Possibly, that bruised schnoz might have been their own? If so, Hilary will exploit their embarrassing personal details via GC Buzz as well.
