‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Hilary Fears Marriage Is Over – Devon Rightfully Severs Ties With Wife

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) knows that Devon (Bryton James) is incensed on ‘The Young and the Restless’. There appears to be no shot of reconciliation this time for ‘Hevon’. If she’s honest, Hilary knows that she and Devon were a longshot to survive inside this soap world because of everything she’s done to-date. Yes, Devon made mistakes. But Hilary’s pattern of documented behavior is available for all who don’t know her soapy story.

Someone who just tuned into Y&R within the last few weeks could reasonably argue that Devon overreacted. That viewer could say that his response to Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) revenge act at the New Year’s Eve charity event was over the top and was the sole cause of his serious car crash.

It would be understandable if this fledgling fan felt that Mr. Hamilton was shifting blame from his own emotional response to his wife’s one misdeed that Mariah was upset about.

Seasoned Genoa City devotees would then begin to educate their naive family member, friend or social media connection with lessons from history.

These points would include Ann Turner’s initial purpose for coming to Wisconsin.

“Who is Ann Turner?”, this person would ask. We’ll call her Fanny for ease of reader’s use going forward.

Well, Ann Turner (also played by Morgan) is Hilary’s birth name. She came to Wisconsin to seek revenge against Neil (Kristoff St. John), who is Devon’s adopted father. Ann believed that Neil purposely left her mother for dead in a hotel room a number of years ago when he (and she) was overtaken by alcohol addition.

“Oh!”, Fanny exclaimed.

Ann tried to drug Cane (Daniel Goddard), Devon’s brother-in-law, set him up in a compromising photo and ruin his marriage. Ann also sent anonymous gossip to GC Buzz, then a start-up website, about the Winters’ family.

“Really?”, Fanny asked incredulously.

Yes, and Ann, who is behind the invented name Hilary Curtis, eventually married Neil.

“She married Devon’s dad?”, Fanny asked, while spitting out her iced tea.

Oh yes, and there are other things as well Fanny. But knowing what you know now do you still believe that Devon overreacted?

“No. Devon should make Hilary retake her real name, but won’t that cost this billionaire plenty?” Fanny concluded.

That’s what all fans are about to find out unless Devon changes his mind about cutting Ann out of his life, regardless of the financial price.
