Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) may have killed Adam (Justin Hartley) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Viewers can’t be sure. But new information has been released to Y&R fans this week that begins to suture the open-ended mystery surrounding Adam’s apparent death, while also tying Chloe’s hands.
Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) discovery of the tracking device in Connor’s (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) plush toy appears to answer the question of how Chloe knew exactly where Adam was hiding last September. As fans recall, Hartley’s character escaped from prison and was hiding in a cabin via Victor’s (Eric Braeden) assistance. The woodsy location was situated somewhere outside of Genoa City where Chloe seemingly never had been before.
Viewers saw Chloe leave ‘Chadam’s’ penthouse and somehow arrive at the cabin. She held a dart gun, had it out with Adam one last time and shot him after which the poor soul fell into an unconscious state. Add to that his being chained to a bed and there was no chance he survived the subsequent explosion that blew the cabin to smithereens.
Would Chloe be having nightmares and renewed daytime flashbacks about the events of September 2016 right now if she helped Adam to escape and was holding him hostage? Not likely. Instead, she would be considering his ongoing existence while updated sidebars where shown within the frame, or full-blown scenes were created.
The complete falsehoods Chloe told and is telling to Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and others is diabolical. As with any liar, Miss Mitchell needs to recall what she told to who before speaking about the Adam issue. Interacting in that manner naturally raises suspicion in the minds of all alert conversationalists over time.

Meanwhile, viewers are considering if they’re actually being led to an Adam redux. Sally Sussman might be having her team simply suture the wounded ending to last September’s Hartley write-out, as that’s why Adam really disappeared. Yes, Chloe’s actions can be revisited and revealed without her nemesis returning.
