‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Billy Enters Lane Triangle – Business and Personal Issues Mixed, Lily And Cane Marriage In Trouble?

Lily (Christel Khalil) became a model again on ‘The Young and the Restless‘. Her effort wasn’t planned, but resulted through an insightful suggestion Jill (Jess Walton) made after ‘Villy’ lost a Brash and Sassy commitment at the last minute. Along with the success of Lily’s efforts, Billy’s (Jason Thompson) mind could be seen working in another direction. Yes, it’s possible that Mr. Abbott is about to enter the ‘Lane’ triangle.

The teased headline of this feature and the last sentence in the first paragraph may have caused Y&R fans to think that Billy is interested in Lily. No, that’s not the case, at least not right now.

After complementing his mom on helping to save the photo shoot and Brash and Sassy’s Valentine’s Day marketing campaign, Billy was pondering Lily’s future. Jill saw that Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) immediate reaction at the shoot didn’t appear to favor his wife’s return to the fashion game. But Billy sloughed that point off.

Cane hadn’t been told by anyone, including his wife, that Lily would be filling in for a model whose flight was canceled Later, at the office, a discussion was had whereby Billy explained that there wasn’t enough time for anyone to call him (Cane) due to schedule tightness.

‘Lane’ has gone offtrack in the recent past due to marital issues. The seeming setup in this instance has Lilly rebooting her career and Billy not caring whether Cane approves. The strength of this very likeable and enduring couple could be tested if Billy pushes matters beyond business.

The sibling rivalry between Billy and Cane has cooled in recent months, but can always be reignited. One factor that could play to ‘Lane’s’ advantage, if Lily does resume her modeling career as a result of this unexpected gig, would be Cane’s role in the company.

Cane’s presence should block any romantic overtures Billy might make toward Lily. Of course that assumes that his continuing pursuit of Vickie (Amelia Heinle) will fail, or be dismissed outright. So this proposed arc could move in various directions and that’s the genesis of a potentially good storyline, its flexibility.
