‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoiler: Phyllis Makes Smart Move – Lauren’s Ally in Looming Jabot Deal

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) knew that she’d lost on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While she still loves Jack (Peter Bergman), and he still feels the same, it was time for both characters to move on. So, at the New Year’s Eve Party inside The Top of the Tower, Phyllis told her ex-husband that she was no longer working for him. But that decision merely sets the stage for what’s coming next.

Little does the former ‘Red’ know that she’s about to become Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) ally in Fenmore’s fight against Jabot. Jack previously stated that he wanted to take over Lauren’s company. That intended business attack would elicit a strong response from Mrs. Fenmore-Baldwin, who would never let her life’s work end in humiliation.

Whether a renewed connection between Phyllis and Jack is created by said proposition is a secondary point. Preceding such personal matters is the issue of Fenmore’s having had an off Christmas shopping season, which is directly connected to its weak online presence.

Lauren solicited Phyllis’ technical expertise a short time ago. Now that Ms. Summers tendered her verbal resignation she’s about to become a strong ally of her new employer in an unanticipated way. Mr. Abbott will find himself at a disadvantage in a hostile takeover attempt because Phyllis has inside knowledge about Jabot and more specifically about Jack.

For his part, Jack sees a company in a weakened position that makes it ripe for the taking. Folding that asset into Jabot’s corporate structure would make sense on many levels due to the beauty-related crossover. Fans can see that some type of brokered compromise could be an option, whereby Fenmore’s merges with Jabot rather than being raked into its building.

Jack recently targeted Brash and Sassy’s space for an unknown reason. How that ploy plays into the above matter isn’t yet known. But Phyllis’ presence on Lauren’s payroll will surprise Jack when he attempts to orchestrate this hoped-for deal in 2017.
