The Young And The Restless Shocker – Headwriter Sally Sussman And Kay Alden BOTH Leaving Y&R

The Young And the Restless spoilers tease that there are some major shake-ups going on behind the scenes of the CBS soap opera.  Over the weekend news hit the internet that headwriter Kay Alden was leaving Y&R, but there’s another major piece of the puzzle, she’s NOT the only one.  According to an all new report, Kay Alden and her partner Sally Sussman are BOTH leaving the soap opera.

Daytime Confidential is reporting that both Sally Sussman and Kay Alden have decided to retire.  Contrary to common belief, both women are leaving on their own terms, and neither of them are being pushed out.  Daytime Confidential goes on to say that the dynamic writing duo will be replaced by current showrunner Mal Young.

So, what does this mean for The Young and the Restless?  Y&R fans could see some major storylines taking new directions in coming months.  However, all changes will most likely be gradual and well planned out seeing as how the new head writer, Young, is already working on the show and familiar with Sussman and Alden’s work.
