It’s been quite a summer on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The unofficial end to the season is Labor Day weekend in the United States. With only a few weeks left to go, which characters have experienced the hottest lives?

Nick (Joshua Morrow) was burned by his father in many different ways this summer. Cut off from family membership at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Blocked in various attempts to expand The Underground’s territory. Kicked out of the Tack House with no notice. What a lout Victor (Eric Braeden) has been to him, again.

Cane (Daniel Goddard) is feeling both family and professional heat. Lily (Christel Khalil) learned that he sabotaged the DARE commercial shoot and then paid Jesse (Max Adler) blackmail to keep his course actions quiet. The twins want nothing to do with him based on Juliet’s (Laur Allen) pending baby. Vickie (Amelia Heinle) prevented Cane from getting a job at Jabot. Then, a deal with Ben (Ben Hermes) fell through because she learned Mr. Hochman was working with Cane clandestinely.

Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) learned that her sister, Crystal (Morgan Obenreder), was in town. But no family reunion could take place because that terrorized girl was trapped inside a criminal organization. Tessa also formed an unexpected connection with Mariah (Camryn Grimes), which seems likely to create new realities for a variety of connected characters.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) initially rejected the idea of dating Ravi (Abhi Sinha). This quirky guy was instantly tagged as capable of completing a frog-to-prince transformation, which he’s now done. This is easily the most heartening storyline for Davidson’s character since the great Michael E. Knight (Dr. Simon Neville) exited the cast. The resulting ‘Rashley’ has served as a feel-good story of the summer for Y&R viewers, while also helping Ashley to open her heart to Dina (Marla Adams).

Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) reminded all mature, yet still light-hearted viewers that love is eternal. Yes, this likable pair lit up the summer. Both terrific young actors evidenced scenes that many Y&R fans surely lived themselves all those years ago when their music sounded different than their parent’s tunes.
