‘The Young and the Restless’ Poll: Which Couple Will Split First – Chelsea and Nick or Lily and Cane? VOTE!

It may seem like ‘Lane’ will easily beat ‘Chick’ to the split line on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Victor (Eric Braeden) has it in for Nick (Joshua Morrow). That puts Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) future in question and means Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) could soon feel Nick’s rage as well.

Let’s review Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) situation, as ‘Lane’ appears on the verge of collapsing first. As viewers know, Cane is the goat in this storyline.

Months ago Mr. Ashby and Miss Helton (Laur Allen) found themselves together in Tokyo, both during business hours and after. Juliet became pregnant and has presented supposedly scientific proof that indicates Cane is the father. However, that incident alone isn’t what’s threatening one of Y&R’s more enduring relationships. Instead it’s another mistake Cane made.

Cane paid Jesse to keep his camera on Billy (Jason Thompson) when everyone from Brash and Sassy was working on the DARE commercial shoot in Los Angeles. The behind the scenes footage that videographer gathered was later doctored to make Billy look bad, which cost Juliet her job and led to the harassment suit. Said legal action also triggered the reveal about Cane’s connection with Juliet.

Now, months later Jesse comes to Genoa City looking to be hired by GC Buzz. When that effort failed, he tried to force Cane to pay him $25,000 in hush money. Cane balked and then Billy bumped into Jesse at Crimson Lights, where a dangerous conversation took place.

Cane’s professional career has already been shredded. But Jesse’s presence threatens the very existence of his family. This won’t end well and the only question is when the boom is lowered.

Meanwhile, back in ‘Chick-land’ Chelsea and Nick are both withholding information. Adam (Justin Hartley) told Chelsea a short time before he’s believed to have died that Christian was his biological son. ‘Chadam’ opted to keep that information from Nick, because that boy was thought to have died. Shortly thereafter Sage actually did die as well.

Nick learned that his father recruited Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam. Chloe was later forced to admit that she killed Chelsea’s husband.

If either person’s secret is exposed, ‘Chick’ could be finished. Since this is soap, both plot points might also crash into each other within the same scripted day.
