The Young and the Restless spoilers and rumors are hinting that we may see an Adam Newman recast sooner than we anticipated. Since Justin Hartley’s 2016 exit and Adam’s “death,” Y&R fans have been hoping the CBS soap opera would bring back the original portrayer, Michael Muhney. However, it looks like that is not the case.

In a recent Daytime Confidential podcast, Jamey Giddens revealed that his sources are saying the search is on for a new Adam Newman. And, although TPTB at the CBS soap are mum regarding the recasting, he did reveal that it wouldn’t be a former soap star.

I’m disappointed to say the least that it won’t be Michael Muhney. Any old Adam just won’t do. Michael Muhney IS Adam Newman.

Never mind the fact that Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott are dead set against that sexual pervert ever coming back to the show.
They are stupid to not bring back Michael Muhney, because most the fans want him back and he is Adam. They don’t seem to care what the fans wants Maybe if we stop looking at The Young and Restless and not support the show. They will listen what we want. Don’t want no older dumber looking guy trying to play a role that don’t fit him.
Yeah, they’re pushing it…I don’t want another new Adam. We know Justin’s not coming back and it should be Michael. How new faces is one guy supposed to get?

I hate Nick and Chelsea together too. That was a bad hook up. I also can’t stand Devon and Mariah together. Who is writing this stuff?
I am about over all this, if they don’t bring back MM I just may quit watching. It is wrong the way they keep messing with the people who keep on watching the show. I don’t feel they could care less about how we feel. So looks like my days of watching are limited
I agree. I have been watching this soap for over 30 years. I stopped watching when they blew the cabin up with Adam in it. I said I wouldn’t watch it anymore until they ressurrected him. I just started watching again with the storyline around Adam’s murder. I figured they must be bringing him back. But, the producers should do all they can to appease their loyal watchers. They don’t want to end up like The Guiding Light and As the World Turns. At the rate they are going, they just might….
Why won’t they bring Michael back, what on earth did he do to deserve this. There are several very boring actors that really are a no value add.
I’m disappointed the original Adam is not coming back. He has suffered enough for what ever he did, and so have we! Why can’t he come back? They came close with Jason Hartley, now it’s time for Michael Mulhey.
Okay. I’m sorry I don’t want Michael back either. The BEST Adam was Justin Hartley. He and Chelsea had MAD chemistry. Why, why, why can’t they find a way to bring him back. I know that he is now starring in Just Us. But, can’t he do recordings for us too;). I love me some Justin. If you are listening Y&R, don’t recast try to get Justin back.
