General Hospital Spoilers: Will Kiki Lose Her Mother Ava, Or Will Jerome Mobstress Make Miraculous Recovery?

Is Kiki (Hayley Erin) about to become an orphan on, “General Hospital?” Her mother Ava Jerome (Maura West) is in a hospital bed with major burns all over her body, and the prognosis doesn’t look good.

Ava Jerome is a low down dirty snake, but she loves her daughters and that may be her only redeeming quality. Ironically Ava’s current predicament can be traced back to her desire to protect Kiki from Morgan Corinthos.

Both Kiki and Ava dated Morgan, the son of a mobster who struggled with bipolar disorder. Ava was determined to keep the two young people apart, and hatched a crazy scheme in which she stole his prescription medication.

She replaced his lithium pills with placebos believing that his mental state would deteriorate leading him to act irrationally and cause Kiki to back away from him. Ava was spot on, and without his medication Morgan began to act out impulsively.

His final act involved stealing a car that was rigged to explode, with the owner being the intended target. Instead, Morgan was the one declared dead and Ava lived with her guilt until the truth came out and bit her royally.

Ava is drifting in and out of consciousness, and on the edge of death, because she was caught in a warehouse fire that she started out of spite. Her intention was to kill Morgan’s vengeful parents, but instead they escaped and she caught fire.

Ava’s prognosis is not good. Not only is her health teetering on the brink, but the truth about her actions has left her an object of derision. Even more ominous is the bedside visit paid to her by Sonny (Maurice Benard).

He has vowed to make her pay for her crimes, which include gunning down his bride to be. When Ava sees him looming over her, she tries to push the emergency button but Sonny casts it aside.
