EastEnders Spoilers: Lisa Faulkner Says New Fi Browning Character Is “Hugely Exciting”

New EastEnders cast member Lisa Faulkner is known for her career as an actress, most notably appearing in Dangerfield and Holby City. At just sixteen she entered the industry as a model which then progressed into British Film, she starred in A Feast at Midnight in 1995. She also appeared in Brookside and Spooks. But, Lisa is probably best known for her celebrity chef status, with not just one cook book but three the latest called Tea and Cake.

Most recently Faulkner won the very popular UK cooking show MasterChef in 2010 and is now famously married to John Torode, who she met on set.

The couple regularly use their joint love for cooking on morning television, appearing together frequently on British TV. But now a new direction for the chef? She returns to our screens as a soap actress in one the UK’s most popular shows.

Lisa is set to join the show as Fi Browning a “stylish, sophisticated businesswomen.” Hopefully her character will be a breath of fresh air, bringing a certain level of class to Walford.

When Lisa was questioned she said this: “Fi Browning is a hugely exciting character”. Will she start a new romance with one of many of the shows eligible bachelors or cause drama for an existing character? We do not yet know how Fi will fit into the square, even Lisa herself stated that she was “sworn to secrecy,” which should mean something juicy!

The possibilities are endless, hopefully she will not be the only new input into the show. With Mick (Dany Dyer) off for a break and the main story line following an underage love affair the show could use an injection of new drama.  The actress is set to join the set in the coming weeks, will this independent women make a splash and shake things up?
