EastEnders Spoilers: Is It Possible Angie Watts Is Alive?

A recent EastEnders episode featured Sharon Mitchell shared a heart-warming toast in the Vic this week about her dear Mum Angie Watts (played by Anita Dobson), the fearsome blonde wanted to reminisce old times with her best friend Michelle recently out of hospital.

It was an emotional scene with Martin Fowler storming out of the pub, he has still not forgiven his cousin for sleeping with his daughter’s boyfriend. Tensions are high between the Fowlers at the minute and the conclusion is not likely to blow over soon.

It has been a trend of the soap recently bringing back old characters to spice up the show with rumours of Vicki Fowler and the Murray’s said to be returning.

This of course is made more likely when their characters are brought up on the show, letting the fans guess and speculate their return.

Well in this episode Ian said, “No disrespect to absent friends but your mum was the best landlady this pub ever had.”

Is the show hinting that there might be an old landlady returning to the Vic? This small speech has started the rumour mill going with fans, will Angie return after all these years?

Loyal fans will remember Angie’s very emotional on screen death over fifteen years ago, suffering with Cirrhosis of the liver in 2002. Angie had moved to Spain to live out her days with her new lover Sonny after a whirlwind romance with Sharon’s father Den. Sharon brought Angie back into the square during her dying days so that she could bury both of her adoptive parents together.

Now, just because we saw Angie die on stage does not necessarily mean that she will not return, EastEnders has previously used this trick to shock fans with Kathy Beale most recently. Ian’s mother was supposedly mauled to death on an African safari by lions, but yet made a shock return to her family with abusive husband Gavin last year.
