Save the date, “EastEnders,” fans: Danny Dyer’s first airdate as Mick Carter is May 19. The Queen Vic barman is back home in Walford, but what kind of chaos greets him upon his return?
Mick made a hasty exit from town a few weeks back when he learned that his daughter had been in an accident while vacationing in Europe. At the time fans made fun of the slap-dash manner that the character exited stage-right.

By now viewers know that the hasty departure was necessitated by Dyer’s own sudden, unplanned absence from the show. What was described as a hiatus, culminated after rumors of the actor’s misbehavior both on and offset.
Other than a few public appearances, the actor has mostly stayed mum on the drama. Immediately after he stopped filming the BBC 1 sudser he was seen at the airport, departing for South Africa. Upon his return he was spotted shopping with his wife.
Now there’s no doubt that Mick will live to see another day in Walford, but are his days at the Queen Vic numbered? While he was gone his mom Shirley signed over the bar’s freehold to crazy Max.
She had a tough decision to make and in the end decided to trust Max in exchange for cash. The nearly bankrupt family needed the money for a life-saving operation for the beloved family dog, and really, what other choice did she have?
Pictures from the set show Mick at the kitchen table, mulling over paperwork; no doubt he is reviewing Shirley’s life or death transaction.
Spoilers reveal that Mick will hit the roof when he learns what has happened in his absence, and he will get into some rather heated interactions with the bar’s new man, Woody. Has Woody been playing Shirley behind the scenes?

Fans are speculating that Woody is really working for Max, thus undermining the Carter family from the inside. If Mick discovers this to be the case, expect the fireworks to rain down sooner rather than later!
