‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: Fan Favorites Return To Salem and New Cast Members Debut

Grab on to your hats, “Days of Our Lives,” fans, a brisk winter wind is about to blow a bushel of changes into Salem. This month viewers can look forward to the return of some familiar faces as well as a few new ones.

The much anticipated return of married super couple Carrie (Christie Clark) and Austin (Austin Peck) occurs this week. Fans haven’t seen either character onscreen in years, and it will fun speculating about just what brings them back to town after such a long absence.

Also returning this week is veteran actress Leann Hunley. What will her character Anna DiMera be up to? No doubt she’ll cross paths with daughter Carrie, but there’s also a lot of DiMera intrigue going on at the moment.

Could Anna have something to do with the DiMera microchip mystery? Or perhaps she comes with news about Stefano (Joseph Mascolo). Apparently The Phoenix has risen again, and is traipsing all over Europe (with a gorgeous young damsel draped over his arm, no doubt!)

The homecoming extends into the following week when Eric (Greg Vaughn) returns to the fold. And by month’s end it will seem like everything old is new again when both Belle (Martha Madison) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) reunite, if only temporarily.

Adding some spice to the mix are several new additions to the DOOL cast. Lamon Archey will appear as Valerie Grant’s (Vanessa Williams) mysterious son, Eli. We already know he’s a cop, but what other secrets will he bring to town?

Lucas Adams will portray Tripp, a new character with a familiar connection. Could he be Patch’s (Stephen Nichols) love child?

A new actress will take on the role of Jade. Gabrielle Haugh will replace Paige Searcy in the role of the troublemaking teenager.
