‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: DOOL Celebrates 13,000 Episodes With Leann Hunley’s Triumphant Return

‘Days of Our Lives’ is celebrating its 13,000 episode, which just happens to coincide with Anna DiMera’s [Leann Hunley] return to Salem. Anna will first show up during the 12,999 episode of ‘DOOL.’ Leann recently talked about her return to the daytime drama.

Stefano DiMera [the late Joseph Mascolo] brought the seemingly innocent and naïve Anna to town in 1982. It was later dramatically revealed that Anna was working with Stefano. Mascolo was one of the first cast member Leann worked with when she began her tenure as Anna.

There have been many Stefano sightings and Anna is back to find the DiMera patriarch. Leann still hold a grudge against Stefano and blames him the for destroying Tony DiMera’s {Thaao Penghlis] life. All these years later Anna is convinced that Stefano’s actions lead to Tony’s death and she wants revenge.

Back in July 2016 executive producer Ken Corday was very tightlipped about Leann’s return as Anna. So far ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate that Leanne has filmed two episodes, 12,999 set to air on Monday, January 9, and episode 13,000 which will air on Tuesday, January 10. It’s possible that Anna may stick around longer than that.

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that Leann will meet up with Marlena Evans [Deidre Hall] in Prague where Shane Donovan [Charles Shaughnessy] and Marlena have traveled in their search for Stefano.

While Leann was back on the ‘DOOL’ set the actress caught up with former cast members she revealed in an interview in the most recent edition of Soap Opera Digest. Leann hadn’t been back to ‘Days of Our Lives’ since 2006 and enjoyed working with Christie Clark [Carrie Brady] Leann revealed to Soap Opera Digest. Christie was only 12 years old when she joined the cast of ‘DOOL’ in 1986.

Leann also revealed that she enjoyed sharing scenes with Austin Peck [Austin Reed] also, as she had never worked with the actor before. “It was really fun to come home to the family,” Leann Hunley revealed.

How long will Anna DiMera stay in Salem. Leann revealed that she taped two episodes in one day, but she did not reveal if she had filmed any additional days. Austin and Carrie will only stay in town for six or seven episodes, but Anna may stay longer.

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers tease that Anna will have scenes with Andre DiMera [Thaao Penghlis]. That could make for an interesting pairing from the past.
