Viewers have sympathized with Michelle for months as she’s gone through hard times. In one of Corrie’s most dynamic storylines, tragic Michelle gave birth at 23 weeks, but her baby did not survive.

After their baby Ruairi died, Michelle and Steve’s marriage took a hard hit in the aftermath of their tragedy.

But to make matters worse, poor Michelle discovered that unfaithful Steve was actually the father of Leanne’s baby. The innocent baby was the product of a boozy one night stand with Leanne.

Michelle’s choice was to leave Steve and stick it to him in the divorce. Of course, Steve thought he could win her back per usual.

But, history will not repeat itself this time! Viewers will soon see Michelle herself having a one-night stand.  And, it’s with the last person you would expect.

Then, something even more unexpected happens: she meets Mr. Right. Who knew that Robert Preston would turn out to be so good for Michelle?

Robert has been a strong and supportive presence for Michelle, and it looks like his good-guy ways will soon pay off. Although he easily could have taken advantage of Michelle when she was vulnerable, instead he did the right thing; unlike cheating Steve!

But if Michelle thinks that Robert will be mush in her hands, she better think again! He’s a strong man’s man, and their road ahead will not be without complications.

Kym Marsh has amazed the Corrie audience with her brilliant portrayal of a woman doing her absolute best to get through difficult times. Her talent and dedication in playing out Michelle’s storyline was recently rewarded when TPTB extended a one year contract to the superstar. For now fans can relax and look forward to another dynamic year of lively storytelling!
