Weekly Soap Ratings August 1-5: All Soaps Lose Viewers – ‘Young And Restless’ Reaches New Low In Women 18-49

The soap opera ratings for the week of August 1-5 have been posted by Soap Opera Network and ‘The Young and the Restless’ has hit a new low with women viewers ages 18-49. ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ ‘General Hospital,’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’ all lost viewers last week.

Days of Our Lives

‘DOOL’ reached 2,181,000 total viewers, a loss of 7,000. ‘DAYS’ fared much better with women viewers 18-49 with 365,000 tuned in. That’s a gain of 14,000 viewers in that category over the previous week.

General Hospital

‘GH’ total viewer numbers are down with 2,589,000 for the week of August 1-5. That represents a loss of 89,000 viewers, the second straight week the daytime drama has lost viewers. Women 18-49 tuned out again with 421,000 watching the soap opera. That represents a loss of 6,000 viewers in that demographic.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Total viewer ratings were down for ‘B&B’ with 3,629,000 watching the soap opera. That is a decrease of 47,000 – and the second straight week the soap opera took a hit. However, ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ welcomed back women viewers 18-49 with 536,000 watching the daytime drama a gain of 60,000 viewers in this category.

The Young and the Restless

‘Y&R’ lost total viewers with 4,591,000 tuned in. The loss of 34,000 viewers comes after ‘The Young and the Restless’ viewership was at a completely standstill the previous week The daytime drama hit a new low with women viewers ages 18-49 with 572,000 watching, a loss of 21,000 in this demographic – and a new ratings low Soap Opera Network reports. This is the second straight week the soap opera has lost viewers in this demographic.

Please note – ‘Days of Our Lives’ will be preempted from Friday, August 5 through Friday, August 19 for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. ‘DOOL’ will return with its new season on Monday, August 22.
