Weekly Soap Opera Ratings For August 15-19: Y&R, B&B, And GH See Jump In Ratings

The soap opera ratings for the week of August 15-19 have been posted by Soap Opera Network. ‘Days of Our Lives’ was preempted due to the Summer Olympics in Rio. ‘The Young and the Restless,’ ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ and ‘General Hospital’ all received higher ratings after all losing viewers the previous week.

General Hospital

GH total viewer numbers were up with 2,573,000 for the week of August 15-19. That represents a gain of 47,000 viewers. After three straight weeks of declining ratings this is good news for ‘GH’ fans. Women 18-49 tuned in again with 416,000 watching the soap opera. That represents a gain of 2,000 viewers in that demographic.

The Bold and the Beautiful

‘B&B’ total viewer ratings were up for the second straight week with 3,732,000 watching the soap opera. That is an increase of 11,000. After a drop in the ratings the previous week ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ drew back women 18-49 with 524,000 watching the week of August 15-19. That represents a gain of 17,000 viewers in this demographic

The Young and the Restless

‘Y&R’ ratings are finally making a turnaround in both important demographics. Soap Opera Network reports that 4,565,000 total viewers tuned in. This represents a gain of 124,000 viewers. This ratings jump stops two straight weeks that the daytime drama dropped in the ratings with total viewers. Ratings were back up in the women 18-49 demographic with 601,000 turning in. That represents a gain of 55,000 viewers. It also means that ‘The Young and the Restless’ two week streak of all time low ratings has ended for total viewers and the end of the third straight week of all time low ratings in the women 18-49 category.
