‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers : The Real Reason Daniel Romalotti Returns to Genoa City!

‘The Young and the Restless’ (YR) Spoilers have been telling fans for weeks about the return of Michael Graziadei to reprise his role of Daniel Romalotti, son of Danny Romalotti (Michael Damien) and Phyllis Summers Abbott (then Michelle Stafford). Now we have learned the reason why.

Daniel will be returning for a four-episode visit, starting on Thursday, August 25th. He is coming back for his younger sister, Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) wedding to Luca Santori (Miles Gaston Villanueva). Michael Graziadei, will not reveal too much more, so we have to wait and see if he will jump on the “I-Hate-Luca” bandwagon or stand by his sister, who is in some serious need of support from family members these days.

The Y&R actor has also revealed that although he has known Gina Tognoni (the current Phyllis Abbott) for years, he has never had the chance to work with her. He admits that she is wonderful. It definitely will be interesting to see him interacting with her as his mom, as long-time fans will remember his nine-year stint and Michelle Stafford was his mother that whole time.

Michael confesses that his short return to The Young and the Restless has made him reflect back on his time on the show and his decision to leave in 2013. “It was a super tough decision. I grew up here, and this was my family. I felt like I had done so much here, I didn’t know what else I could accomplish. I wanted to take that leap of faith and challenge myself to see if I could have a career outside Y&R. And it’s worked out very well.”

Besides playing roles in a few movies, like The Blackout and Into the Blue 2: The Reef, Michael Graziadei has also played numerous roles in several TV shows. He had a recurring role on FX’s American Horror Story, where he played a young boyfriend of Jessica Lange’s character and had played the role of Callum on The CW’s The Secret Circle.
