At the athletic club, Jack brings Lily (Christel Khalil) upstairs after she drenches Hilary (Mishael Morgan) in water. Cane (Daniel Goddard) hears what went down. He scolds Lily for revealing her knowledge without consulting him, but the tension lifts when they talk about Hilary getting soaked.
Lily explains why she’s going to stay tight-lipped. Devon (Bryton James) could get hurt if she tells the cops about Neil (Kristoff St. John). When Devon shows up, Lily asks him if he has any second thoughts about keeping quiet. Devon claims that he thought it was best and so did Hilary. Lily feels like Hilary just saw this as an opportunity for personal gain.

Later, Lily confides in Cane that she’s concerned about Devon. She knows Devon loves Hilary, but suspects that Hilary doesn’t love him in the same way. Meanwhile, Jack and Hilary chat about her affair. She fears the issues it caused will always be there. Hilary says she didn’t mean to hurt Neil, but she just felt something special with Devon. Jack suggests that there were fireworks.
Hilary indicates that they couldn’t fight their feelings and Jack considers the thought. Devon approaches and Jack excuses himself. Hilary is outraged by Lily’s behavior and Devon apologizes for the trouble. However, Devon feels certain that Lily will keep the secret. Hilary confirms she’ll keep her mouth shut, too. Devon hints that Hilary might just be trying to save herself, but she insists that she’s attempting to protect everyone involved.
Elsewhere, Jack finds Phyllis and wants to get everything out in the open. He asks if Phyllis has feelings for his brother. “The Young and the Restless” viewers will be anxious to hear Phyllis’ response. At the outdoor restaurant, Adam (Justin Hartley) notices Dr. Gates (Alicia Coppola) is meeting with her father. It seems they’re reconnecting. Dr. Gates says a friend urged her to reach out to her dad.

Once Dr. Gates is gone, Adam approaches her father. Adam insists that Victor (Eric Braeden) is a master manipulator and he’s using Dr. Gates as a pawn. In prison, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) shows up to see Victor. She states that Victor’s plot to get out isn’t going to work. Adam and Chelsea want Victor to serve his full sentence. The rest of the Newmans do as well and they’ll all try to make that happen.
Victor suggests that no one will be there to protect Chelsea and her family when the company falls apart. He thinks everyone in the Newman clan will soon find out how important his protection was in their lives. Chelsea thinks Victor needs to take responsibility for what he’s done, but he contends that his family put him there. Victor vows to teach them all a lesson.
Dr. Gates’ father, Russell, arrives and warns that Victor should forget about using his get-out-of-jail-free card. Russell mentions his discussion with Adam, but Victor says his son is a pathological liar. He adds that Adam is married to a con artist. Russell doesn’t care whether that’s true or not. He says he won’t push for Victor’s release.
