‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Victor And Phyllis Join Forces To Take Down Common Enemy Luca

Victor (Eric Braeden) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) have often fought on ‘The Young and the Restless’. However, current circumstances place them on the same side in a battle against a common enemy. Summer’s (Hunter King) engagement to Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva) temporarily gives ‘Villis’ cause to platonically unite.

Power couple names became the norm when a social media storm digitally swept the globe earlier this decade. Generally these cheeky monikers are romantic, as ‘Niktor’ (Nikki, Melody Thomas Scott and Victor), ‘Phack’ (Phyllis and Jack, Peter Bergman), ‘Philly’ (Phyllis and Billy, Jason Thompson) and numerous other nicknamed couples prove on ‘The Young and the Restless’. In this instance, Victor and Phyllis aren’t interested in each, but in protecting Summer from Luca’s agenda. That’s why ‘Villis’ matters and could prove powerful.

For his part, Luca told Summer that he had been using her to maintain access to Newman Enterprises. But, he also acknowledged that somewhere along the way his intentions changed and he fell in love with her. The couple’s recent belief that a baby might be on the way served to convince Luca that he wanted to be with Summer and so an engagement ring was purchased, offered, and accepted. While a baby isn’t on the way, ‘Suca’s’ marriage plans do include starting a family in the apparently near future.

Victor doesn’t believe that Luca actually cares about his granddaughter, which sets him apart from Nick (Joshua Morrow). Summer’s dad recently advised Luca to stand by his daughter if she was pregnant on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That unexpected comment could also telegraph Nick’s potential support for this couple moving forward.

Phyllis naturally wants to protect her daughter from being hurt. She’s tough, but might eventually accept her proposed son-in-law if she sees sustained proof that Luca’s feelings are genuine. However, those potential days are currently visible in the distance. In the meantime, Phyllis finds herself in the unusual position of siding with Victor in Y&R‘s latest arc.
